Frankly, for the uninitiated it’s a difficult question to answer. There’s singing, there’s dancing, a spot of acting and attempts at comedy, all performed by members of Southampton’s Scouting and Guiding community aged from 6-25! In addition to this are a team of volunteers who do everything required behind the scenes for the show to take it from an initial spark of an idea to the polished performance enjoyed by audiences.
To truly understand what Roverang is though there’s only really two options for you. If you’re a Beaver, Cub, Scout, Explorer, Network, Rainbow, Brownie, Guide, Ranger or Young Leader then join the cast and have a go. If you’re a parent of one of the above or just someone interested in an entertaining night out, buy a ticket and come along to view the latest show!
Above all else though Roverang is about friendships and fun. You’ll forge relationships that will last into adulthood and experience once-in-a-lifetime opportunities.
Roverang 2020: When I Grow Up
Returning home from his weekly trip to Cubs, Roger sits in bed pondering the night’s activity where the pack had been discussing careers. Unsure of what he wants to be when he grows up, Roger starts to drift off to sleep, falling into a dreamland where he can explore 12 potential professions along with the help of our wonderful casts. Come explore a day at work with teachers, pilots, the armed forces, emergency services, circus performers and more besides.
And how did we arrive at the array of careers we’re exploring? We asked last year’s cast what they wanted to be when they grow up. Now we get to help them explore their dreams as we follow Roger on his quest to decide what the future has in store for him!
